Philip Thomas was a Senior Peacebuilding Associate for the International Peacebuilding Advisory Team.  His work with Interpeace began in 2012, serving as a Senior Adviser and leadership coach to the President of Somalia and the senior leadership of the Somali Federal government.  With over twenty-five years of experience, Philip’s core competencies included the design and facilitation of democratic dialogue and multi-stakeholder engagement processes in the fields of conflict prevention, transformation and peacebuilding through negotiations, mediation, third party intervention and political dialogue.

He facilitated tailored training’s to foster capacity-building at the individual and institutional level, including leadership development and coaching for heads of state and staff of international organizations, corporate executives, as well as leaders of communities and indigenous groups.  Philip provided consultancy services to government and non-government organizations.  His former clients include the United Nations Development Programme, the Governments of Somalia, Guatemala, and Honduras and organizations such as CARE International, Asia Institute of Management in Manila, and the International Institute of Sustained Dialogue.
